Message from Nate Montgomery, New CrossLink President
Challenging, exciting, and wonderful things are afoot at CrossLink, and we are rejoicing in what the Lord is doing.
First the challenging part. After 25+ years of service as a board member and president, Al Martinsen has made the decision to resign from the Crosslink Board. Al and his wife, Judy, settled permanently in Arizona where they are Wycliffe ministry volunteers. Please pray for Al and Judy as they follow the Lord’s will.
As a result of Al’s resignation, I find myself now the President of the Crosslink board and Acting Ministry Director. This is a huge task and I have some big shoes to fill. Please pray for me, my wife LaSarah, my family, and for the CrossLink Board as I take on this completely new role.
Now for the exciting part!!!
In the process of assuming this new role, I was so blessed to be reminded of great accomplishments that CrossLink has been a part of over the years:
- Two churches planted in Washington State
- 26 individuals went through Bible Training Center for Pastors School
- 66 families served at pastoral leader retreats
- 13,000+ heard the gospel one-on-one through CrossLink projects and ministries
New Ministry Opportunities in 2024
Going forward, CrossLink is continuing its current ministries and adding two new projects this year with the indigenous people groups of Mexico. As you may remember, we have partnered for years with the Ryan family and the work among the indigenous Mixtec groups in Othello, WA. Last year in partnership with the “Iglesias Hermanas” in Central Mexico, we were able to minister among the Nahuatl people in Michoacán. Interestingly, there is a very deep connection between the Nahuatl and Eastern Washington, so we are excited to see how the Lord directs. This year, we have an opportunity to use food produce cultivation as a tool to share the gospel in the harsh mountainous regions of Chihuahua among the Tarahumara indigenous peoples. Finally, there are two churches in the Pacific Northwest that have expressed an interest in praying about and exploring planting churches in their cities with an emphasis on reaching Spanish speakers.
As you can see there is a lot happening and there is a lot to do. We need your prayer for each of these projects, but more importantly, for each individual that will be impacted through the work the Lord has given us.
Pray for CrossLink’s long-term and short-term missionaries, pray for the indigenous people groups in Mexico and in the Pacific Northwest (Mixtec, Nahuatl, and Tarahumara), pray for the CrossLink Board as we learn and grow together, and pray for me as I take on this new role with CrossLink. May God be glorified and open my ears and mind to hear and recognize the Lord’s direction as CrossLink moves forward and continues ministry in the Pacific Northwest, Mexico, and Venezuela.
If you have any questions or would like additional information on how to be a part of CrossLink ministry, please feel free to contact me.
