January/February 2018 Ministry Update: 2017 Year in Review
CrossLink supporters have prayed for years for a missionary that is able or willing to learn Mixtec so that communities in Othello can hear the gospel and know the truth of God’s love. After the November blanket and coat drive, the Ryans were following up with 7 people interested in studying the Bible in Mixtec. After the Christmas Shoebox drive, the Ryans were following up with 13 people who signed up to study the Bible. As we celebrate the Bible studies starting in the Mixtec language, continue to pray for the precious hearts in Othello to see the truth of God’s love in 2018 and for the Ryans to be encouraged as they walk in faith!Mixtec Community: Last year began with Josh and Sarah Ryan looking for a home in Othello and learning more about the Mixtec language and community that they are called to love. Each month brought new steps in faith as we watched God orchestrate so many details with the Ryans moving to Othello and finding purpose in ministry – whether that was finding property; volunteers building a fence; blanket and shoe box drives; or new growth in relationships with neighbors, churches, and supporters.
Sinai Bible Church: Juan & Dina Aguilar are CrossLink missionaries serving in Tieton. Winter church services are at 2:00 PM during November through February and Summer church services are at 6:30 PM during March through October. Please contact us to receive the Aguilar missionary letter.Mexico Health Fair: The Mexico Health Fair volunteers partnered with churches in three locations – Tototlan, Arandas, and El Tarengo, Mexico. All locations have church plants or Bible studies that have been started. The mission team from West Side Church served 803 individuals – all of whom received free medical or dental care and heard the Gospel presented in their language. CrossLink is planning for the Dental Van to be an effective ministry tool for the Mexico Health Fair in 2018, as well as available for partner ministries hoping to use the vehicle throughout the year.
Mexico Leader’s Retreats: Church leaders from 12 different congregations and 28 families gathered at the 2017 Central Mexico 12th Leader’s Retreat for a full weekend of fellowship, rest, worship, and seminars that focused on transparency in church leadership. Jeff & Val Sutton from Great Commandment Ministries in Tieton, WA and Dan & Brenda Woodkey from Iglesia Biblica Vida Nueva in Yakima, WA were our guest speakers.
