Watering the Earth
In the heat and haze of summer, as our vacations come and go, and Fall schedules and deadlines loom nearer – pray for the hearts of those in your community. In different places this summer – Othello, Yakima, Tieton, Mexico – the gospel message has been shared through church services, planned events, and individually. As the gospel seeds scatter, we are not always privileged to see what happens to those seeds.
However, in Isaiah 55, there is a passage of scripture promising just as the rain and snow cannot fail to nourish the earth when it falls, so God’s word cannot fail to do what He intends it to do.
Be encouraged that the work of spreading God’s word is never in vain!
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55: 10-11
