He is Risen!

Read Psalm 22. As Jesus hung on the cross dying, He breathed out Psalm 22:1 “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” By speaking the first refrain in that psalm, Jesus is guiding us to a song of remembrance – a song calling us to place our hope and belief in a good and righteous God – despite the sorrow and darkness around us. Yes, Jesus lived through the pain and horror of Psalm 22:14-16. He watched as Psalm 22:18 rolled out. Mark 15 tells the story again. But He knew Psalm 22:24 was true and that God would respond in power and glory to His death – and ultimately break the chains of death. In Psalm 22:27, “All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.” He is Risen! He has done it!
